Palo Alto Firewall in Active/Active modus: Update/Upgrade

1. Suspend the active-secondary. 2. Verify that the active-primary is now passing all traffic. 3. Download and install PAN-OS on the active-secondary. Download klappt nicht, „Communications Error“, daher active-secondary wieder aktivieren, Software downloaden … suspenden … Software installieren 4. Restart the active-secondary to complete the installation. 5. Verify the active-secondary is passing traffic in a functional state. 6. Suspend the active-primary. 7. Verify that the active-secondary is now passing all traffic. 8. Download and install PAN-OS on the active-primary. 9. Restart the active-primary to complete the installation. 10. Verify the active-primary is passing traffic in a functional state. 11. Verify that both firewalls are passing traffic correctly as an active/active pair

Extreme Networks: XOS Switch: Update per sftp Zusätzlich zu der TFTP Variante (download image) gibt es noch dies, Voraussetzung ist nur das SSH xmod Paket. Per SFTP (Filezilla) admin@172.25.3.xxx “Put summitX-15.3.1.14…xos” lädt dann die Datei hoch Danach per Telnet oder SSH auf den Switch verbinden, “install image ?” zeigt dann das hochgeladene XOS-Image an. „install image summitX-15.3.1.14….“ installiert dann das Image. Interessanterweise sieht man die hochgeladenen Images nicht im Dateisystem per „ls“, diese  landen anscheinend unter /config, worauf der Zugriff nicht erlaubt ist. Auch kann man lediglich ein einziges xos/xmod-File hochladen, das vorherige wird dann gelöscht. Die Vorgehensweise wäre also wie folgt: Sftp, put „…xos“ Install image summitX-15.3.1.14…xos Use image primary|secondary, je nach dem was die aktive Partition ist. Alle …
